Into the Woods at Nagarhole

Into the Woods at Nagarhole

Since the Mysore-Madikeri road takes you straight to Madikeri (Coorg), to visit Nagarhole, you need to take a left to the Nagarhole road. The road is paved with gulmohar trees giving you shades of nature depending on the season you travel. The cool atmosphere and the pleasant sights would force you to drive slow and even take some good photographs on the way.

As you reach the Nagarhole Forest Department, you need to register the vehicle at the entry point. Please note that traffic is allowed inside the forest only from 6am to 6pm daily. Once you enter inside, be ready with your cameras to spot and capture a few wild animals. Be sure you don't disturb them or honk to provoke them.

Unlike a zoo, there would be no instant help if you're in trouble, so make sure you follow the strict guidelines seen on the boards as you travel through the forest. The animals that could be seen are the spotted deer, bisons, herds of elephants. It would take you around an hour to reach the other end of the forest department.
