Karnataka Boasts India's First Sole Permanent Rainforest Research Station In Agumbe

The Agumbe Rainforest complex includes reserve forests around Shankaranarayana, Kundapur, Sringeri Hosanagara, and Thirthahalli. The complex is home to India's single permanent rainforest research station outfitted with India's first automated weather station. The station solely monitors changes in rain forests. The Agumbe Rainforest Research Station has initiated the world's first radio-telemetry project on the serpent, King Cobra.
