How To Reach Calangute:

By Air: The closest airport to reach Calangute, is located at Dabolim, which is nearly 38 km away from the town. From the airport, travellers can easily opt for cab services to reach the place.

By Rail: The nearest railhead is located at Thivim, located at a distance of 38 km from the town, which is well connected by trains from the nearby towns and cities.

By Road: The Margao Bus Terminal, which is also 38 km away, connects Calangute via roadways to all the major cities of the country.

Best Time To Visit Calangute:

The weather at Calangute is warm and humid throughout the year. However, late November to February will be the best months to visit Calangute, when the weather is pleasant and windy every day with an average temperature of 20°C to 25°C.

The Calangute Beach has been recorded as the most commercialised beaches of Goa. The Calangute Beach, a coastal haven, makes for a must-visit destination for those who have an undying love for the beach and the sun. Blessed with beautiful pristine sandy beaches, the Calangute Beach is inhabited by the serene and natural environment and stretches for about 7 km, in-between the blurred demarcations of the Candolim and Baga beach. Overlooking the Arabian Sea, the Calangute beachfront is a popular hotspot for travellers for it is comparatively calm than the Baga beach. Besides serene surroundings and azure blue water, the beach is also famous for its water adventure activities such as para-sailing, water skiing and water surfing.

A feast to the eyes and soul, Calangute's Baga Beach is touted as the most happening beach of the town. Located at a distance of 2 km from Calangute Beach, the Baga Beach is a popular getaway among youngsters and the western voyagers. Studded with shacks and eateries all along its stretch the beach is host to a happening night-life. Also famous for its dolphin cruises and water adventure activities, Baga Beach in Calangute paints a pretty picture.

The Fort Aguada with its alluring charms of decades-old aura has worn out rustic interiors and is the most beautiful monument of Portuguese descent that bespeckles the town of Calangute. The fort was built with the purpose to safeguard the town from the potential Dutch and Maratha invasions. The fort lounges over the entire peninsula lying on the western edge of Bardez and also comprises of a light-house that has been preserved from the seventeenth century. Climb to the top of the antiquated light-house to witness some mesmerising panoramic vistas of the town.
