Miao is not left behind when it comes to quite a number of good schools, colleges, government institutions as well as industries. How To Reach Miao:

By Air - The closest airport to Miao is the Mohanbari Airport in Dibrugarh, Assamlocated at a distance of 156 km and the closest international airport would be Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. It is 600 km away from Miao.

Take a taxi or cab or most probably a bus from the airport and reach Miao conveniently. Jeeps and Gypsy are also quite ideal.

By Rail - If we talk about railway stations, Assam's Tinsukia and Dibrugarh railway stations are located at a distance of 115 km and 165 km away from Miao, respectively. The nearest passenger railway station is Margherita Railway Station, again in Assam, and which is just 65 km from Miao.

By Road - Miao has good connectivity to other cities of Arunachal Pradesh via properly maintained roads. However, tourists make it a point to avail a taxi/cab to utilize their time fully while in Miao. As it is a hilly area: Jeeps, Innova, Sumo and Gypsy are convenient modes of transport due to the hilly region.

All interstate cities are connected to Miao and direct buses can be availed from Tinsukia, Guwahati and Dibrugarh. You can avail government and private buses too. You can catch a bus from Margherita, Ledo, Jagun and Kharsang as well.

It has its roots emerging from the presence of the Stillwell Road and when it came to eradicating the Japanese occupation in Myanmar, numerous soldiers from the Allied Forces, Chinese, Kachins as well as Indian origin breathed their last during the Second World War. You shall find their graves readily located here. Many localites and labourers volunteered to help out the soldiers. The tombstones of the civilians, as well as the soldiers, were found beside each other.
