Nalknad Palace is a preserved monument now and has been renovated under the command of the Karnataka government. Located in the Kodagu district of Karnataka and built during the 18th century, this beautiful palace is believed to be the last shelter of Kodagu kings before they were dethroned by the army of the British. Like other palaces in India, Nalknad Palace too narrates its yesteryears' legends through its corridors that are waiting to be explored.

Being one of the seven royal palaces in the majestic city of Mysuru, Jaganmohan Palace is definitely a must-visit spot if you are looking to catch a glimpse of architecture during the period of Wodeyar dynasty. Completed in 1861 by the king of the Wodeyar dynasty, Jaganmohan Palace was a royal residence to the guest kings.

Today, it is serving as a function hall and an art gallery, where numerous sculptures, paintings and statues can be seen. The legendary tales of Wodeyar dynasty can also be found echoing in the large halls of Jaganmohan Palace.

Under the maintenance of Archaeological Survey of India, Shivappa Nayaka Palace is named after Shivappa Nayaka, the ruler of Keladi Nayaka dynasty during the 17th century, and is located in the Shivamogga district. However, according to the historians, this palace is believed to have been built by Hyder Ali, the ruler of Mysuru at that point of time.

The major speciality of this grand palace lies beneath the surface of its incredible artistry, on the pillars, walls and the ceiling. Currently, Shivappa Nayaka Palace is acting as a government museum, which houses ancient sculptures of Indian gods, holy animals and several stones with certain inscriptions.

Spread over a vast stretch of land and built by the king of the Wodeyar dynasty, Cheluvamba Mansion was once a residing palace of the third princess of Mysuru, Cheluvajammanni. Even though this marvellous mansion has been converted into a research institute named Central Food Technological Research Institute, the beauty of the palace is still intact.

Surrounded by majestic gardens and settled proudly amid the historical space of Mysuru, Cheluvamba Mansion is a must-visit destination if you love exploring the unexplored pieces of history.

Carved mostly out of teakwood and situated in the historical town of Srirangapatna, Daria Daulat Palace is an example of Indo-Saracenic architecture and was built by Tipu Sultan, the ruler of Mysuru during the 18th century. Daria Daulat Palace was initially a summer palace where Tipu Sultan used to spend his time during the summer season.

Even though it is a popular historical place now, it is still far away from getting the attention it deserves. It has become quite famous amongst history lovers for its unique architecture which can be seen everywhere inside the palace. From pillars to the ceiling and walls to the floor, every part of Daria Daulat Palace is adorned with paintings, patterns and drawings.
