Jankinath Bhavan, or Jankinath Bhawan, is the house where Subash Chandra Bose lived. Today the structure has been renovated and preserved in the form of a museum. The galleries and other items kept for display here are worth a visit.

The living rooms of Netaji's house are today galleries in the museum. You can find his belongings, the furniture used in the house, Netaji's photographs, and other materials that were parts of his life. It is interesting to know that the gallery here holds 22 of his handwritten letters to his family, which were written on the leader's visits to various parts of the world.

Some other interesting things you can see at Netaji Birth Place Museum include the horse cart used by the leader and his family during their times. Some sophisticated toilets too have made up to the list of items in the gallery.

There is an extensive library at the museum which showcases a collection of books that were published on Netaji in various languages. It also has the autobiography that he had written and was printed in 1355 in Bengali. There are around 500 books here that talk about the leader's early life, schooling, freedom movement, etc.

The whole museum is decorated on his birthday, and the day is celebrated at the area by conducting blood donating camps, awareness programs, cultural events and other programs. The place is often visited by historians, and those who are strong patriots.

Opening Timings: 9am - 8pm from Monday to Saturday. Sundays are closed.

Best Time to Visit: Attending the museum during the time of his birthday, which is on the 23rd of January, is the best, as you can be a part of several other events, camps and other programs related to Netaji.
