Kanwar Lake Bird Sanctuary is located in the Begusarai district of Bihar and was founded in the year 1987. It is spread over an area of about 68 sq km and is the largest freshwater oxbow lake in Asia. Yes, you read that right. By Air: The nearest airport from the sanctuary is located in Patna at a distance of about 160 km. Once you have reached Patna, you can either hire a direct cab to the sanctuary or catch a bus to Begusarai and then from there, a cab or any public transport to Kanwar Lake Bird Sanctuary.

By Rail: The nearest railhead to the sanctuary is located in Begusarai at a distance of about 30 km. From the railway station, you can either hire a direct cab or catch any public transport to reach the sanctuary.

By Road: Kanwar Lake Bird Sanctuary is easily accessible by road.
