Located at a distance of 78 km from Mysore, Shivanasamudra is surely the best scenic waterfall that is situated closest to Mysore. Nestled on the river Kaveri, Shivanasamudra is formed from two parts namely Gaganachukki and Barachukki Falls.

Head to the Shivanasamudra Falls during monsoon or just after monsoon since the falls will be at its peak, brimming with water. Visit the Ranganathaswamy Temple located nearby.

Nagarhole National Park is located 90 km from Mysore, which is a 2-3 hour drive away. Being a part of the Western Ghats, it has a rich biodiversity with rivers, streams, hills and waterfalls spread across the thickets of forest.

Some of the animals you can spot at Nagarhole include four-horned antelope, Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, to name a few. Be ready with binoculars since you can also spot birds like oriental white ibis, red-headed vulture, etc.
