Gudavi Bird Sanctuary is located in Soraba Taluk of Sagara subdivision. It is around 114 km from Shimoga.This bird sanctuary is located on the banks of the Gudavi Lake. It is said that June to December is the best time to visit Gudavi Bird Sanctuary. Especially it is good to visit during the monsoons as this is the migratory season here. It is also the time the lake is full.
