How To Reach Gangotri

By air: Located at a distance of 114 km away, Dehradun Airport is the nearest airport to Gangotri. You can catch a flight to Dehradun from any part of India.

By rail: Since Gangotri is located in the mountain ranges, there is no railhead in Gangotri. The nearest railway station is Harrawala, and it is about 113 km away from Gangotri. You can avail buses or cabs to reach Gangotri from Harrawala.

By road: Roads are well connected to all the other major cities in India. And there frequent buses from Delhi, Rishikesh, Patna and Kolkata, to name a few.

Best Time To Visit Gangotri

Summer season is the best time to visit Gangotri, i.e., from April to June. Temperatures vary between 15°C to 20°C. Since the weather is cold and pleasant during summer, tourists and travellers will have favourable conditions for sightseeing.
