As New Year approaches, people get busy deciding on their New Year's resolutions and travelling tops every bucket list. Few places in India bloom into beautiful tourist destinations as the winter season steps into its peaks. With a lush-green atmosphere and a chill in the air, these destinations are lovely to explore. With January approaching fast, get ready to pack your bags and head to one of these exciting tourist destinations.

Kochi is one of the most beautiful coastal towns in Kerala and is popular amongst tourists and visitors for its unique artwork and gold. Browse through the ancient Jewish town that will give you a sneak peak of the rich history of Kochi. The Muziris Biennale kicked off in 2012 and continues to stun audiences with its sheer elegance and charm even today.

Do check out the Trishul peak, Rudraprayag, Chenab Lake, Kwani Bugyal and Joshimath. If time permits, you could watch the national skiing championship hosted here.

13. Diu

Once upon a time a relaxing spot for the Portuguese, Diu continues to enthral audiences with its soothing retreat atmosphere away from the bustle of a busy city. The calm environment, quaint sea beaches and pleasant weather make it an ideal place to explore in January. Add the ancient structures, the delightful cuisines and vibrant culture heavily influenced by the Portuguese and you have an excellent holiday package in stores.

Don't forget to be a part of the De Diu, the most extended beach festival in Asia.
