Bangalore is one of the busiest cities of India. Being an IT hub, people here live fast lives and are those who believe in enjoying the most of the weekends and other holidays they get. However, the common choice of the residents here would be to escape to a nearby unexplored destination during holidays, to feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

When Bangalore offers many tourist places with the city limits itself, there are many places that can be visited from the city within a day or two. It would be a great idea to get some new experiences and to come back feeling charged and happy.

You may not be able to enjoy the beauty of sunrise, sunset or any other scenic views until you take a break and decide to leave to witness them. Since there are some amazing places near the city that look their best during dawn, you can choose to travel to one such amazing place for a beautiful start of the day.

Out of the places near the city that can be visited during weekends, here is a list of 10 early morning destinations that you can try visiting during these breaks.

BR Hills – 50km

BR Hills – 50km

BR Hills is one of the best choices to get some fresh air, away from the polluted air and smoke you inhale in Bangalore. Located in South-eastern Karnataka, the hill range shares its border with Tamil Nadu. Apart from the beautiful sunrise that is not to be missed here, the place also has enough to explore for wildlife enthusiasts. You can sight elephants, deer, peacock, bison and several species of birds here.

Turahalli Forest – 20km

Turahalli Forest – 20km

Turahalli Forest is one that can be seen from Nice Road in Bangalore. The viewpoint here (also known as Karishma hills) is one of the lovely places to see dawn and to see the city of Bangalore from a different perspective. The place is also a trekking destination for adventure lovers.

Manchanebele – 40km

Manchanebele – 40km

Manchanebele dam is located in Magadi Taluk, not too far from the Bangalore-Mysore road. The places is one of the favourites among trekkers, and is also a great place to view the first rays of the Sun. The dam is built across river Arkavati that originates from Nandi hills.

Big Banyan Tree – 28km

Big Banyan Tree – 28km

This huge banyan tree is located at the Bangalore-Mysore road, around 28km from the city. You can easily reach here by bus from Majestic or KR Market. Apart from seeing the big tree (called as 'Dodda Alada Mara' in Kannada) that is over 400 years old, the place is also good to catch a glimpse of the rising sun.

Avalabetta – 120km

Avalabetta – 120km

Avalabetta is one of the ideal weekend destinations from the city. Though it takes only two hours to reach the place, it isn't as popular as Nandi Hills. You can find this place as you travel from Hebbal road to Devanahalli via Yelahanka. Once you reach NH7, Avalabetta is on the way to Chikballapur from here.

Mekedatu – 93km

Mekedatu – 93km

If you travel on Kanakpura road, Mekedatu is around 93km from Bangalore. The place that means 'the goat's leap' in Kannada, is a scenic location to view spectacular sunrises. The exact route to the place is Bangalore - Kanakpura - Sangama - Mekedatu.

Nandi Hills – 60km

Nandi Hills is one of the popular weekend getaways and sunrise destinations near Bangalore. Located in Chikballapur district, the hills give you a beautiful view of the sun rising from a layer of clouds.

Madhugiri – 105km

Madhugiri – 105km

Madhugiri means 'the honey hill'. Apart from being a beautiful early morning destination, the place is also a great choice for trekking. Madhugiri is located in Tumkur district.

Skandagiri is known as a night trekking destination. If you reach the hilltop by early morning, you will be welcomed by the beautiful sunrise.

Makalidurga – 60km

Makalidurga is another trekking destination near Bangalore. The uneven terrains and the meadows are what make the place beautiful. It takes around 2 hours to reach Makalidurga from the city.
