Diwali is one of the world's most beautiful festivals. It is celebrated to mark the victory of Lord Rama over the King Ravana. People light earthen lamps also called diyas which symbolises the victory of light over darkness or good over evil.
The word Diwali is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Deepavali' which when translated means 'row of lamps'. The festival takes place with great pomp and fanfare throughout the country and by Indians around the world. Here is a pictorial tour of the sparkling Diwali 2021 celebrations in India.
