Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary
A delight to all the bird-watchers is the Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary in Gurgaon. Declared as a Bird Sanctuary in 1972 by the government, it is a protected area which boasts of being a home to about 250 species of birds, both resident and migratory birds. Apart from bird-watching, this sanctuary is also a popular picnic-spot to the tourists and houses a library, watch towers, a children's park, an education center and so on. Some of the resident birds found here include Common Hoopoe, Paddyfield Pipit, Purple sunbird, Indian roller, White ibis, Common spoonbill, Laughing Dove and more. The migratory birds that are seen here include Siberian Crane, Greater Flamingo, Wood sandpiper, Indian Golden Oriole, Comb Duck, Yellow Wagtail and more.

Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary
The Salim Ali bird sanctuary is home to many varieties of local and migratory birds and is situated along the river Mandovi in Goa. It is one of the best known bird sanctuary in India. It boasts of birds like Sparrows, Peafowl, Parrots, Pelican and many more. It is one of the best places to head to in Goa if you ever get tired of the beaches.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary or Vembanad Bird Sanctuary is located on the eastern shore of Vembanad Lake. The sanctuary is set in the backdrop of the backwaters and is a truly mesmerizing locality. It is a seasonal home to hundreds of migratory birds and serves as an absolute treat to birdwatchers.
The major bird species of the sanctuary include cuckoo, waterfowl, heron, cormorant, owl, teal, lark, egret, moorhen, Siberian crane, darter, Brahminy kite, parrot, and flycatcher. A trek during the sunrise or sunset will delight birdwatchers for they get to watch flocks of birds flying across the scenic setting of the tranquil skies.

Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary
Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary is situated near to the banks of the Kaveri river in Karnataka. The exotic migratory birds like light Ibis, Egret, Partridge, Heron, River Tern, Snake Bird, Stone Plougher are the attraction for the tourist.
