Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary

You'll not only enjoy the lush greenery but also its fauna in Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary. It is a paradise for bird lovers and a part of Anshi Dandeli Tiger Reserve. The sanctuary is known of the Great Hornbill and the Malabar Pied Hornbill.The most interesting part is that of the frequently visiting black panthers! It is the only tiger reserve in India where black panthers are spotted often.

Brahmagiri Wildlife Sanctuary gets its name from the Brahmagiri Peak in Kodagu. The region consists of varieties of forest vegetations like Evergreen forest, semi-evergreen forest, grasslands, Shola forests and bamboo patches. It is the home to many animals like Common Langur, Leopard Cat, Gaint Flying Squirrel, Emerald Dove, etc.

Someshwara Wildlife Sanctuary

Best Time: November - April
Someshwara Wildlife sanctuary is situated at the border of Shimoga and Udupi districts. It is near to Agumbe and this region also gets a good amount of rainfall. The reserve has the tropical wet evergreen forest vegetation. The forest houses tigers, jungle cats, India porcupine, spotted dear, etc.

Best Time: October - February
Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary is surrounded by hill ranges like Mullaiyanagiri, Hebbegiri, Bababudangiri and Gangegiri. The sanctuary is a bio-diversity hotspot with a number of wildlife in Chikmagalur. Wide varieties of flora and fauna here makes it one of the best wildlife sanctauries in Karnataka.

Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary

Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary

Best Time: August - April
Daroji Sloth Bear sanctuary was exclusively created for the preservation of Sloth Bears. It is situated in Ballari district. Daroji Sloth Bear Sanctuary is around 65km from Hampi. Apart from Sloth Bears (who stay in the caves of the hills) there are many other animals. Dry Decidious and Southern Thorn Forests are the major vegetation of this region.

Sharavathi Valley Wildlife Sanctuary

Sharavathi Valley Wildlife Sanctuary

November - May
Sharavathi Valley Wildlife Sanctuary is located near to Jog Falls in Shimoga. The famous Linganamakki Reservoir is also part of this sanctary. Here you will see evergreen forests and moist deciduous forests. Along with varieities of animals, the sanctuary is also known for reptiles.
