Lot of us love travelling during monsoons; a view of light showers, a hill covered with a green blanket of trees or the clear water running down a stream creates such a spellbound experience.
Rain is an ally to a lot of us and some places are astounding and makes your visit a memorable one.

Devarayanadurga

A divine hill-station that is located in Tumkur district is a great place to visit when it rains lightly. The place looks ethereal during monsoon and a ride to this place is a great weekend idea; the major attractions of this place are the Lord Yoga Narasimha and Lord Bhoga Narasimha temples. Trekking may not be a great choice during monsoon but if you are a quiet lover of nature and are looking out for a rejuvenating week ahead; Devarayanadurga is a must-visit.

Himavad Gopalaswamy Betta

Do you want to get a feel of being on Cloud nine; zoom towards Himavad Gopalaswamy Hills. A place that is generally alluring throughout the year and monsoon is a complement. Located in the dense forest of Bandipur area, this place gives us an enchanting feeling of being amidst clouds. It's mostly foggy throughout the year with slight drizzle at times. There is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Krishna that attracts a lot of visitors and this hill is also an abode for a lot of wildlife. Do carry your camera along for some candid shots in this place.

Kudremukh

Another hill-station which reveals the most beautiful side of it during rain is Kudremukh. This place is known for it's scenic beauty and unruffled wildlife. The view of this peak from a certain angle resembles the face of a horse. Hence, the name "Kudremukh". Kudre - in Kannada means Horse and Mukh refers to face.

Belur and Halebidu

The bewitching beauty of Belur and Halebidu is another magical experience to a traveller during Monsoon. As it rains, the entire view of the temple blends with the atmosphere taking us into a surreal world. The beautifully carved sculptures and the architecture leaves an everlasting impression on the visitors.
