Dos in Andaman and Nicobar Islands:

  1. The islands' tourist information centres are actually very useful. For any needed travel support, get in touch with them.
  2. For a safe diving experience, only use the services of qualified Scuba Dive Instructors that have certification from worldwide professional organisations like PADI, CMAS, NAUI, BSAC, or SSI.
  3. Prior to diving into the water, approach the lifeguards and take instructions from them.
  4. When operating a two-wheeled motor vehicle, always wear a helmet. Anyone caught operating a motorcycle without a helmet can face punishment or a fine.
  5. Follow the regulations of the road and drive to the left. Carry identification, such as a passport, licence, or driver's licence.
  6. There will be notice boards about photography and videography permits at every tourist destination. Where necessary, obtain licences to take photos and videos.
  7. To dispose of all garbage and trash, use dustbins and garbage cans. Do not dump them into the ocean, parks, beaches, or other public areas. Keep the Andaman Islands litter-free throughout your stay.
  8. Ask the people for permission if you wish to film or photograph them.
  9. When travelling in the Andaman Islands, keep vital documents like your passport, permit, and driver's licence close to hand. Leaving them at the hotel or resort is not advised.
  10. Swimming should only be done in places that are secure.
  11. If you observe any undesired activity, alert local authorities or staff members stationed in protected zones.
  12. Obtain the proper licences before visiting national parks, as entry is restricted without authorization.
  13. When snorkelling or scuba diving, be sure to stay in the approved regions. Avoid standing on coral reefs at all costs. This could harm the reefs.
  14. Foreign nationals must always carry their restricted area permit. Every time tourists arrive at Havelock or other islands like Neil, the jetty police officials examine their restricted area permits before letting them depart from the ferry and enter the islands.
  15. Learn more about tropical forests, reefs, and other aquatic creatures. Before coming here, do some research on the islands to enhance your experience.
Andaman Travel Tips

Donts in Andaman and Nicobar Islands:

  1. Avoid using plastic bags. The Andaman Islands have a ban on plastic carry bags. Anyone found in possession of a plastic carry bag faces a fine of Rs. 1,000,000, a six-month jail sentence, or both.
  2. Without a special pass, you are not permitted to enter the Nicobar Islands or any other tribal reserve. If you seek to mix with a tribe without authorization, you risk receiving harsh punishment.
  3. Avoid smoking in public places.
  4. It is strictly forbidden to spend the night on beaches or in forests.
  5. Be cautious when going back to your hotel or resort after dusk.
  6. On land or at sea, you may not hunt any form of bird or animal. Please contribute to protecting the Islands' biodiversity and animals.
  7. Never go boating without a life vest.
  8. Never start a bonfire in a forest or on a beach. It's against the law to camp on the islands.
  9. Never gather shells. You must purchase shells in order to possess them. Keep the purchase receipt as well.
  10. The native Andaman tribes should not be captured on camera or video. This is regarded as criminal behavior and is punishable.
  11. Avoid spending the night in the forest or on the beaches because there are several poisonous animals there.
  12. When intoxicated, avoid swimming. In dangerous areas, avoid swimming during the monsoon.
  13. It is not permitted to damage or even touch a live coral. The taking of dead coral is also prohibited.
  14. On all Andaman beaches and in public areas, nudity is prohibited.
  15. Do not linger on the islands past the expiration of your permit.
