Once a thriving capital of Vijayanagara Kingdom, still rules the travellers destination list by attracting them towards the ruins.

Varanasi
Varanasi or Banaras has grown over time. Historical evidence indicates Varanasi to be one of the oldest and continuously inhabited cities of the world. Some legends say that Varanasi was founded by Lord Shiva and there are also tales of the Pandavas visiting this city. Whatever may be the reasons, Banaras is one of the holy cities for Hindus.

Thanjavur
The amazing Brihadeshwarar Temple built during the Chola period shows the heritage of this city. Many dynasties have ruled Thanjavur, leaving strong impressions of their time. Formerly known as Tanjore, the city has a number of heritage sites and a lot of ancient temples to visit. If you love dolls then, the bobble-head doll from Tanjore city will certainly do justice to your collection.

Quilon - Kollam
Kollam, earlier known as Quilon or Desinganadu is located on the coast of Laccadive Sea. Once a full-fledged port town, Quilon was also a popular trading centre. It had connections with Chinese traders too It is surely one of the sea ports that flourished in ancient India. Kollam, which is explored by the great Venetian traveller then is now a great place for travellers.
