Later on, when the successor of Nasir Khan refused to bow to Mughal emperor Akbar, the fort was attacked by the Mughals and hence, went under their control. However, it eventually became one of the settlements for British forces.
Today, it is standing strong on the Satpura Range narrating glorious as well as miserable tales of its past. During the Mughal period, the empire from Asirgarh Fort to Delhi was considered Hindustan.
