Best Time To Visit Saputara

Saputara experiences a pleasant climate round the year. Being located at a high altitude, the winters are cold and temperature might drop down to 8 degrees on certain days. This is the peak season for tourists.
Summers are cool, pleasant and soft winds blow through the valleys. Temperature never rises above 28 degrees.
This is the best time to visit if one is looking for a refuge from the hot and sultry weather of the city. The crowd is also scanty during this time, thus, making it a solace for peace lovers.
Saputara receives heavy rainfall with slight humidity. Monsoon blooms the entire greenery of the place and exploring the wild nature becomes easier. In case one loves to trek through the hills for a complete adventure, July to September is the best time to visit.
How To Reach Saputara From Ahmedabad
Saputara is about 410 km from the city of Ahmedabad and is well connected via extensive rail and road networks. The best mode to travel to Saputara is, however, the road network. Encompassing a massive stretch of over 410 km, the NH48 is well developed to give a majestic feel while driving.
Route 1: Ahmedabad - Vadodara - Bharuch - Navsari - Vansda via the NH48
The above route is developed well. Long serene stretches give relief from the heavy traffic. Well-divided roads with proper lane markings and beautiful scenic beauty are the treats of road travel on this route.
The route also passes through many towns and cities, therefore, availability of fuel and lodging is readily available at small distances.
Vadodara

The medieval city of Vadodara is located at about 110 km from Ahmedabad. The place is well preserved, telling the heroic ballads of its former ruler of the Gaekwad dynasty. Architectural lineage stands still preserved to this date and mural paintings attest the epic historical scenes.
The Kirti Stambh depicts the glory of principles of Jainism. Towards the north, the Tambekar Wada, a 4-storey townhouse of the 19th century, contains valuable murals which show the scenes of the epic Mahabharata.
The Laxmi Vilas Palace that is a symbol of royalty stands with massive courtyards, a concert hall and a museum to delight the visitors.
Bharuch

78 km ahead lies the city of Bharuch. It is located at the mouth of Narmada river. The city is a perfect place to take rest within the campus of the Sri Swaminarayan Temple. The pristine location rejuvenates the soul and takes one into a spiritual state of mind. The campus has parking slots and a food court serving at all hours.
Little ahead of the temple lies the historic 100-year-old golden bridge. The narrow passage of the bridge consumes heavy traffic at all hours. The place depicts the architectural marvel of the British.
Navsari

90 km ahead of Bharuch lies Navsari. It is a perfect place to lodge if you plan to continue the journey the next day. There is a lot to be explored of this otherwise silent destination. The Dandi Beach is a silent place to watch the sunset and take a long walk with your loved ones. The Dandi Beach walk will take you through the entire route of Gandhiji during the Salt Satyagraha.
The Unai Mata Temple is another sacred site to visit along with the Andheshwar Mahadev Temple.
Vansda National Park
Vansda is just located 55 km from Navsari but it is a destination one might not want to miss. The national park is a pristine location known for its ardent conservation efforts and it is said that since its inception, not even a single tree has been cut here.
The canopy at many places is so thick that complete darkness prevails in the park. There is nothing more thrilling than exploring the inner area on a vehicle enjoying the dense flora and abundant fauna.
The local tribe interaction, hiking options and a conservation centre are the things to be explored within the premises of Vansda National Park.
Final Destination – Saputara

66 km ahead of Vansda lies Saputara. It is believed that Lord Rama spent 11 years of his exile here. The name denotes the expression "abode of serpents" and a massive image of a snake is located at the shore of the river Sarpganga, which flows through the town.
Saputara is a well-organised hill station and the place is filled with natural beauty. There is a lot to explore here. One can visit the beautiful gardens, paddle a boat in the lake, enjoy a cable car ride or perhaps spend the entire day hiking over the designated points through the lush green and thick vegetation.
Saputara is known for its vegetarian cuisine. Gujarati thali is readily available at all restaurants. Almost at every corner, one can easily find rejuvenating numbu paani along with golas.
Gira Falls

The place is just a kilometre before entering Saputara. The gorgeous and massive waterfall erodes the bedrock, falling through a height of 150 km into the Ambica river. One is simply dazzled by the beauty of the picturesque panorama of the site.
The massive waterfalls are open on all days of the year. Local tea stalls add to the fun part. One can sip on a hot cup of tea while enjoying the chilling mist that hits back on striking the surface.
Saputara Lake

Saputara Lake is a pristine waterbody covered with lush green gardens all around it. Morning walks near the lake are refreshing. Boating is available readily at the lake. The museum is located at a walking distance from here. The museum displays the rich culture and history of the people of Dang, many of who are native tribes of the area.
Sunrise And Sunset Points

The Sunrise Point or the Valley View Point is known all over for its hiking and trekking activities. Hiking is fun here as the cool breeze blows through the valley cooling you at every step. The hill point is worth climbing as the sunrays illuminate the entire area overlooking the hills to a golden texture.
However, remember to carry lot of water for the hike.
On the western side, the Sunset Point is located which overlooks the Dang forest. Sunset gives a mesmerising view as the yellow-coloured sun throws a red texture all around the sky.
Hiking is not compulsory as one can access the ropeway cable car to reach the point. The ropeway gives a picturesque view of the whole of Saputara.
