Toranmal Attractions - Tourist Places To Visit In Toranmal

The Sita Khai - named after Goddess Sita – is a fascinating valley situated about 1.5 km away from Toranmal. The waterfall in this area during the monsoons attracts a lot of tourists and is a prime hotspot. The echo point can be seen nearby.

The Lotus Lake is a prime attraction in Toranmal. Known locally as Kamal Talao – that literally translates to Lotus Lake in English, the lake is abundant with plenty of lotus flowers that magnify the place’s beauty. The Lake falls in the form of a waterfall, after which it meets the Sita Khai – the valley – down below.

The Yashavant Lake has been named after Maharashtra’s former Chief Minister – Yashwant Rao Chavan. It is a natural lake that spans an area of about 1.6 sq km. Tourists visiting this site can participate in a little boating or indulge in fishing. There is a Protestant Church nearby that adds to the beauty of the scenery.

The Cave of Machhindranath is believed to have been named after Sage Machhindranath, a holy person who meditated in this very place. Situated on the Tornamal Hill Station, this cave is naturally formed. The Machhindranath Temple and the Markendeya Rishi Seat are two other attractions that must be visited here.

The Aawashabhari Point is a splendid view point that allows a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and the Forest Rest House. It is situated close to the boundary of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The nearby Jalindranath Temple is a major tourist attraction. The Fort of Gond Raja in the vicinity is another must visit site for history enthusiasts.

The Khadki Point, like the Aawashabhari Point, is a popular point in the hill station of Toranmal. It is believed that centuries ago a huge wall ran along the length of this hill station, the remains of which were found during the excavation at this site.

The Torna Devi Temple is more than six hundred years old. The deity that is enshrined in the temple is that of Goddess Torna Devi. The idol of the Goddess has been made in black stone. The shrine is located in the Tornamal hill station.
