    Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary, one of the major tourist attractions in Sawai Madhopur, is situated at the intersection of two mountain ranges, Aravalli and Vindhya hills. Located around 9 kilometres away from the main city, the sanctuary boasts of diverse life forms and many rare species of plant and animal life.

    The green wealth of Sawai Man Singh Sanctuary is evident by the presence of trees like siras, jamun, kadaya, amaltas, kadamb, goya khair, khair, cheela, raunj, tendu, gurjan, khirni and saintha, salar and kathphadi.     Khandar Fort, located in the Khandar tehsil of Sawai Madhopur, is one of the must-see tourist attractions in Sawai Madhopur. An ancient fort, it is situated about 40 km from the main city. It lies close to the Ranthambore National Park, a very famous wildlife sanctuary. Lying on a vertical hill, the fort has three big doors at the entrance. With its location at a precarious spot, the fort was not easily conquerable by any attacking armies. One of the ruling kings of Khandar Fort was known for having won every battle he had ever fought.

    One of the dynasties who ruled this fort was the Sisodia clan of Mewar. They were later overthrown by the Mughals, who defeated them to capture the fort. During the festivities, the high point is the immersion of the sacred idol of Lord Mahavira in the holy waters of Gambhir river. The temple during that time is thronged by Jain pilgrims, coming from all parts of the country to seek the blessings of the Tirthankaras.
