Rock climbing at Ramanagaram is quite popular with tourists and is recommended for those searching for adventure. The place is located in a valley bounded by rocky hillocks at a distance of approximately 48 km from Bangalore. Ramanagaram is among the oldest rock climbing areas, since 1960, in South India. Ramadevarabetta, SRS Betta and Thenginkalbetta are some of the prime rock climbing places. There are various tall granite hills, of lengths of 1 to 2 pitches, which make for easier climbs.
Some of the popular climbs there include the Wanakkal Wall, Gabbar Ki Asli Pasand, Rainbow Wall and Anna-Thamma. Tourists are warned against the multiple bolted routes that are too old and not suitable for climbing.
