New RRTS Station Design

Officials said that the design proposed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation was approved in the meeting. The new RRTS station will be built underground near Shankar Chowk, and will have three entry and exit points. One gate will be located towards Rao Gajraj Singh Marg, the second towards Cyber City, and the third on HIL land near the Ambience Mall U-turn.

Parking Facilities

Parking facilities for vehicles will be available on HIL land and also in Cyber City. The existing Cyber City station of the Gurugram Metro will be built next to the new Namo Bharat station and will be directly connected through a common concourse, which will make it easier for passengers to switch between the two systems.

How will this Project Help?

During the meeting, the Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited was instructed to provide 1,330 square metres of land to the Gurugram Metropolitan Rail Limited. This land will be used to build a metro depot in Sector 33. According to GMRL Managing Director Chander Shekhar Khare, finalising the RRTS station at Shankar Chowk will also help in deciding the exact location of the nearby metro station. He also mentioned that ₹17 crore has been received to shift high-tension power lines near the Millennium City metro station.

Shifting of Utilities

Moreover, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority has been asked to shift utilities along a 2.5 km stretch between Hero Honda Chowk and Umang Bhardwaj Chowk. These steps aim to speed up construction and improve connectivity in Gurugram.
