Two new cases of coronavirus have been reported in India, one in Telangana and another in New Delhi. This takes the total coronavirus cases in India to five, a month after the first case was reported in Kerala.
The officials confirmed that both the patients are stable and are placed under quarantine. The person from Telangana has travel history from Dubai, while the other from New Delhi has travel history from Italy, the Union Health Ministry said.
COVID-19 or the new coronavirus has spread to more than 72 countries and killed more than 3100 globally. A revised travel advisory has been issued by Indian government urging everyone to refrain from travelling to a few selected countries!
The following advisories were issued by the Indian govt for immediate implementation (PIB release).
1. Regular (sticker) visa / e-Visa given to nationals of the People's Republic of China issued on or before 05.02.2020 were suspended earlier. The suspension shall remain in force. Those who need to travel to India under compelling conditions may apply for a fresh visa at the nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate in China.
2. All regular (sticker) Visas/e-Visa (including VoA for South Korea and Japan) granted to nationals of Iran, South Korea, Italy, and Japan; issued on or before 03.03.2020 and who have not yet entered India, stand suspended with an immediate effect. Those needing to travel to India due to compelling purposes may seek a fresh visa from the nearest Indian Embassy/Consulate.
3. Diplomats, officials of UN, OCI cardholders, Aircrew and other international bodies from the above countries are spared from such restriction on entry. However, medical screening is mandatory.
4. Travellers from overseas entering into India from any port are obliged to provide duly filled self-declaration form (including personal particulars, address in India and travel history) to Health Officials and Immigration officials at all ports.
5. Indian citizens are urged to refrain from travelling to China, Iran, Italy, and the Republic of Korea, and advised to avoid non-essential travel to other COVID-I9 affected countries!
