Ambubachi Mela 2022 – Kamakhya Temple Opens Its Door For Devotees

Kamakhya Temple in Assam will open its door to devotees after 4 days of hiatus due to Ambubachi Mela.

India's most famous and antique temple, Kamakya Temple in Assam, opens its doors to devotees after a much-celebrated Ambubachi Mela 2022.

Nestled on top of the Nilachal Hills, Kamakya Temple in Assam will open its doors to devotees after 4 days of hiatus due to Ambubachi Mela. During these four days, the temple doors are shut and a fair is organised on the temple premises. It is believed that during this time, the deity undergoes her annual menstrual cycle. It was after two years that the devotees were allowed to participate in the festival due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

May the divine blessings of Maa bring peace, prosperity & happiness in everyone's life", said Assam governor Jagdish Mukhi on Twitter.

Officials said that the provision for VIP passes for visitors has been stopped for some time which allows all devotees to enter the shrine.
