Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary, home to an array of flora and fauna, is a destination that must be visited while on a trip to Muthathi. It was declared a wildlife sanctuary on 14th January 1987. Sprawled over an area of approximately 102 sq km, the wildlife sanctuary is bounded by the river Cauvery, on its eastern and northern sides and the state of Tamil Nadu on the eastern and north-eastern sides.

The vegetation here consists of deciduous, riverine and scrub forests.
