Kaziranga Weather

The Kaziranga National Park remains open for tourists from November to May. Otherwise due to heavy rainfall, the park remains closed for tourists. While the post monsoon months are very pleasant and ideal for a visit, during the peak summer season, lots of animals are likely to be spotted.

Summer

The summer months in Kaziranga are March, April and May. These are hot months, and the maximum temperature recorded here is 37 degrees Celsius while the lowest temperature during the summers is 25 degrees Celsius. It is a dry season and gets very windy too. In May, many animals can be spotted.

Monsoon

The monsoons bring heavy rainfall to this part of the world flooding most parts of the park. The monsoon months are June, August and September. The park remains closed during these months for the tourists. Kaziranga receives has an annual rainfall of 2220mm. The park can remain flooded for 5-10 days at a stretch.

Winter

The winter months in Kaziranga National Park are November, December, January and February. The average temperature during the monsoons lingers around 5 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius. The weather is very mild during the winters and thus attracts the largest number of tourists. This is the peak season in the park.
