Hot Springs in Sikkim are unique attractions that tourists to the state can make a visit for some refreshment. And the hot springs present at Jorethang are slowly becoming a rage among the travellers to the place. These hotsprings are rich in sulphur and are of a great therapeutic value. The average temperature of the water here is around 50°C and is all of useful medicinal properties.

Jorethang is renowned for this famous annual fair that it hosts. Held in January every year, the Maghey Mela is an event celebrated with extreme grandeur and travellers visiting the place during this season of the year will get to enjoy the most. The mela is said to have originated from an agricultural fair held at Jorethang in the year 1955 for the first time. The event which acts as a platform to showcase the customs and traditions of the people of Sikkim will include an array of interesting events like cultural programmes, paragliding, river rafting, archery, hot balloon shows, fashion shows, beauty pageants and more. Apart from playing host to an expo selling several interesting products related to Sikkim, it also includes a food fair dedicated to Sikkimese tradition foods.

The Rangeet River is a tributary of River Teesta, the largest river at Sikkim. It originates in the mountains of Himalayas in West Sikkim and flows past the towns of Jorethang, Pelling and Legship. It is a perennial river and obtains its waters from the melting summer snow of the Himalayas and the rains of monsoon. The river is a hot spot for river rafting, as it has turbulent waters and is thus quite popular among the rafting aficionados. The river also has a National Hydro Electrical Power Corporation (NHPC) hydel power plant of 60 MW capacity.
