There a few people amongst us who would make their own path along the roads not taken, those who love to dance in the rain or stroll through the mountain slopes. There are individuals who would travel not only to put away things, but also to gain a better understanding of their fellow beings, explore new places and find a new meaning to life.
The real sense of peace of mind is at times achieved amidst nature and without being troubled by any sort of noise from the daily routine. Working all day means sometimes your heart calls out for a break, to reach a place where there is absolutely nobody to interfere with in a peaceful atmosphere. This one is for those who do not find a meaning in the proverb, "the more the merrier".
1. Kausani
Also known as the Switzerland of India, Kausani is place which gives you marvellous, haunting views of the majestic Himalayas. One can find peace in the many ashrams setup here apart from undertaking a trek to the hills and mountains. Kausani is paradise for those who feel silence is golden and where one can surrender themselves to the lap of Mother Nature.

2. Hampi
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hampi is a place which would take you back in time to the glorious period of the Vijayanagar Kingdom. One can witness the ruins of the once glorious and rich kingdom; the temples and other monuments found here not only display the artistic skills of the artisans of the bygone era but also throw light on the secular living conditions of the dynasty. In short, every stone has its own share of stories to tell, which they would only whisper when you spend some quality time in analysing them.

3. Shantiniketan
Brainchild of Debendranath Tagore, and expanded by his son Rabindranath Tagore, the life in Shantiniketan is slow but yet beautiful and gives you the feeling of being close to Mother Nature. Shantiniketan not only showcases the life and time of Rabindranath Tagore, who is fondly addressed as Gurudev, but also throws light on the importance of learning from nature. The place urges one to spend more time with nature and learn from it rather than wasting time in technology.

4. Ziro
Located in the charming state of Arunachal Pradesh, Ziro lies at a very close proximity to the capital city of Itanagar. The amazing climate of the place is an add-on factor for those who come here seeking peace, while leaving behind all the worries of the world. The Ziro Valley is the perfect place to discover yourself.
The valley is also well known for its annual music festival where one would get the chance to see some of the well-known bands live in action. The music festival is scheduled to happen from September 28th to 1st October this year (2017).

5. Khasi Hills

6. Agumbe
Agumbe is the place if you love listen the sound of raindrops and the sound of wind blowing through the forests. The much-famed Malgudi Days was shot here. A major draw here is the Dodda Mane which again served as a location for Malgudi Days. One can lose themselves in the dense greenery and immerse themselves in the smell of the wetlands.
