    Popularly known as the second Howrah Bridge, this new toll brige is cable stayed and one of the longest in Asia. The sheer grandeur of the bridge is awe inspiring and when illuminated at night makes a breathtaking sight.

    Its hard to see any people on the bridge as there are no pedestrian walkways on it but one might get off one's vehicle and click a few pictures. A trip to Vidyasagar Setu not only reflects the mesmerising view of the bridge and the river but also shows the mingling of innovation and heritage.

  • 02Indian Botanical Gardens

    The Indian Botanical Garden, also known as the Acharya Jagdish Chandra Bose Indian Botanical Garden is not very far from Howrah’s town centre. It harbours a great collection of rare flora with over 12 thousand specimens spread over a 100 hectares.

    The park was inaugurated by a British army officer way back in the 1700s. Scientists are also active here with many growth observations happening continuously. The garden is a great place to spend an afternoon which might also help in learning a couple of things.
