    Byndoor Beach, located in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of Coastal Karnataka, is one of the prime attractions of the small village of Byndoor. Located at a distance of around 45 km from the Maravanthe Beach, Byndoor Beach is known for its stunning sunsets.

    According to a common belief, the beach was named after Sage Bindu, who legend says, undertook penance on the small hill of Ottinane located nearby. A sense of peace and tranquillity emanates from the beach, and thus tourists flock to it in large numbers to enjoy its serenity. It is therefore popular for travellers looking for silence and relaxation.

    Another major attraction is the popular Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple, dedicated to the Hindu goddess Parvathi. The temple is believed to have been conceived by Hindu saint, Vedic scholar and supporter of the Adwaita philosophy, Adi Shankaracharya.

    Apart from this, the Byndoor Mountain, Murudeshwar, Maravanthe and Ottinane are some of the other famous places situated near Byndoor.

    Kshitija Nesara Dhama is a place of natural beauty situated at about 75 km from Udupi in Ottinane. The place, nestled amidst lush tropical foliage of palms and coconuts, looks onto the open ocean which seems to meet the sky in a seamless horizon.

    The Dhama, located on top of a small hill, provides for an unmatched panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. The Dhama is currently managed by the Department of Forests, which has set up a few rooms as well as an eatery for the travellers visiting this place.

    The tariff of the rooms is reasonable and the food is fairly priced. Travellers visiting Byndoor must stay here if they wish to spend some time in the lap of nature, and enjoy peaceful sunsets and balmy ocean breezes.
