Prayagraj enjoys all three seasons: summer, winter, and monsoon.

Summer

The summer months include March to June and during the peak month, mercury can reach about 45°C together with hot winds.

Monsoon

The monsoon season is from July to September and is characterized by heavy intermittent rain falls. The weather during this period is wet and humid.

Winter

The winter season spreads from December to February. The climate is mild and pleasant with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 20°. The city experiences severe fog in the month January resulting in cancellation of flights and delay in trains. Like other cities in north India, the best time to visit is from November to March. The temperature during the rest of the months is hot and dry. However, being an important pilgrimage centre, Allahabad attracts a lot of visitor traffic during religious festivals.
