Named after Lord Wilson, the governor of Mumbai from 1923 to 1928, Wilson Hills was declared a hill station in 1927. However, due to some unknown reasons, the plan did not succeed and hence, the place could not be developed. It was named Wilson Hills by Vijay Devji, the last king of Dharampur who had also planned to develop the place. You can find a memorial installed in their loving memory atop the hill.

Wilson Hills is located in the Western Ghats in the Valsad district of Gujarat and is rich in flora and fauna due to the presence of Pangarbari Wildlife Sanctuary in its vicinity. Today, it has become a weekend destination for local tourists who come here to enjoy the richness of the hills.

Wilson Hills also allures several trekkers and mountain climber who come here to test their patience and endurance. Once you have reached atop Wilson Hills, you can also catch a glimpse of the Arabian sea.

Wilson Hills is located at a distance of around 120 km from Surat and is easily accessible by road. However, you may also find steep roads in and around the region of Wilson Hills. If you are travelling by air, you can take a flight to Surat airport and then from there, you can hire a cab to Wilson Hills. The nearest railhead is at Valsad which is at a distance of about 53 km from Wilson Hills.
