Legend has it, that from Mathura and Vrindavan itself, the tradition of playing colours on Holi originated, from the banter of the mythological figures of Radha and Krishna. Where to go: Welcome the Easter holidays with a visit to Nagaland, where a majority of population are Christians, hence Easter celebrations are not taken lightly here. The Catholic Church in Kohima hosts a vigil which is divided into four segments, which includes lighting a candle, inserting grains into the candle which is symbolic of the wounds inflicted on Jesus Christ. This is then followed by a procession where the people follow the priest back to the church and finally, everyone is blessed with water which signifies purification and life, and a reminder of baptism, which is the first step into Christianity. The ceremony ends with a distribution of Easter eggs to everyone.
