Kalsubai Peak

Kalsubai Peak in the Western Ghats is the highest point in the state of Maharashtra. At an elevation of 5400 ft, it is also known as the Everest of Maharashtra. The peak attracts a large number of trekkers who are determined to scale its height.
To reach the summit there are a number of well-designated trekking routes. The most popular route taken is from the eastern face of the mountain from the base village of Bari.
Naneghat

Naneghat is a mountain pass in the Western Ghats range near Junnar in Pune. During the Satavahana region, this route was used as a trade route between Kalyan and Junnar.
Naneghat in translation means coin pass; it was given such a name because the path was used as a tollbooth to collect toll from the tradesmen who would cross the hill path between the Konkan coast (Kalyan) and the Junnar region.
Sinhagad Fort

Sinhagad is a hill fort which is located about 25 km south-west of Pune. According to certain evidences available, the fort is believed to have been built about 2000 years ago. The carvings and the caves found in the Kaundinyeshwar Temple have stood the test of time to narrate stories of their glorious past.
The fort is a very popular weekend getaway for most of the people from Pune, which also includes trekking enthusiasts who trek all the way up to the fort from the village of Sinhgad at the bottom.
Tamhini Ghat

A mountain passage located between Tamhini and Mulshi, Tamhini Ghat is situated on the crest of the Western Ghats and is noted for its greenery along with scenic waterfalls, lakes and dense woods.
The Tamhini Ghat begins from Mulshi Dam and ends at the Orchards Cafe. One of the best seasons to visit the ghat is during the monsoons when the waterfalls flow in their full splendour.
Harishchandragad

Harishchandragad is a hill fort located in Ahmednagar, it is a place which showcases a confluence of history along with nature.
Malshej Ghat in Kothari village plays a significant role in protecting and controlling the region without falling prey to commercialisation. Some of the interesting spots here are Saptatirtha Pushkarni, Kedareshwar Cave, Taramati Peak, etc.
Rajmachi Fort

Rajmachi Fort is a much-loved destination for nature lovers, backpacker and campers. During the rainy season, the region is breathtakingly beautiful with silvery waterfalls, streams, lush-green forests and fields.
The locals at Udhewadi welcome the tourists and provide meals and accommodation facilities for them at a very nominal price, which has helped them make a living; they have now given up their traditional occupations of agriculture and cattle rearing.
