Yadgir - Of History And Culture

Yadgir is the administrative headquarters of the Yadgir district in Karnataka. The city, historically known as Yetagiri, is known for its rich history and cultural relevance. The historical monuments, ancient temples and medieval mosques make the place worth a visit.

Rivers Krishna and Bhima flow through the city, and the place is also known for its scenic beauty. The city gets its name from Yadavas, one of the ruling dynasties of the region. Yadgir has a hill fort that has three fortifications, which is a beautiful sight to marvel.

The Jama Masjid, Mailaralinga Temple and Nizam Burj are other tourist attractions that can be visited here. Since it is a high-altitude place compared to other places in Karnataka, the weather is generally pleasant throughout the year.
