Musamman Burj or the octagonal tower in the Agra fort is where Emperor Shah Jehan breathed his last. Shah Jehan and his daughter Jahanara Begum were imprisoned in this structure by his son Aurangazeb. The multi-storeyed structure inlaid with precious stones was built by Shah Jehan for his beloved consort Mumtaz Mahal. It offers an enticing view of Taj Mahal, the memorial Shah Jehan built for his Mumtaz Mahal.

Built during 1631-40, the Musamman Burj has a crowning dome with gilded copper on top. Agra fort, situated in the historical city of Agra in Uttar Pradesh state, is a World Heritage site.
