There is neither a tiger nor a dark dingy cave, but located in Saluvankuppam, five kms from Mahabalipuram, are a couple of rock cut temples. Tiger cave is the best example of the pallava architecture. If u travel nearly 4 kms in the north direction from the main complex, you will reach Tiger Cave. The name Tiger cave derives from the tiger that was the pet of goddess Durga.

People come to Dasha Maa, situated at Borivali area in Mumbai, to ask for their wishes to be fulfilled. Once their wishes are fulfilled, they come here to give their offerings i.e Coconuts to the deity. Hence, the temple is also known as Coconut Temple.
