Vikram University, situated in the antique town of Ujjain, is named after the prolific ruler Vikramaditya. Established in the year 1957, the university is considered as one of the most famous universities of Madhya Pradesh. There are a lot of facilities that are provided by the University authority.
The university library is known as the Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Library, and it has produced 1645 Ph.D. thesis till date. Another noted part of the university is the University Press that was established in the year 1961. The campus is satellite connected and is accessed to more than 500 online research journals.
The university has its own work department that looks after the buildings and helps in planning new constructions. Several eminent personalities have the university as their Alma Mater. There are several scientists, educationists and a former Chief Justice of India in the list of those bright students who have passed out from the university.
