Perched at an altitude of 7700 ft, Mashobra is a tranquil town of Himachal Pradesh, that is filled with lush greenery. It is of pristine nature since it is relatively untouched by commercialisation or many tourists, making it a perfect quaint little romantic destination.

Craignano

Craignano used to be a summer resort of the Italian countess. It houses a beautiful villa, built in Italian style by Chevalier Peliti. The place was named after a town in Italy. It is perched on an elevated region; thus, it has many small streams trickling down the place. The villa is made of wood and enveloped with enchanting pine and oak trees.

Due to the picturesque setting of this place, it is now a sought after spot for picnics. The region is filled with beautiful flowers and apple orchids. Many buildings and street layouts of the colonial period can be seen in the region from the top.

Reserve Forest Sanctuary

The Reserve Forest Sanctuary is located 4 km from the town centre of Mashobra. This is another place of escape in Mashobra which is gifted with thickets of oak, pine and cedar trees. The sanctuary is surrounded with the Indus river, which is why it is home to an array of flora and fauna.

In fact, the sanctuary is one of the biggest watersheds in Asia. Grab a pair of binoculars since you would not want to miss out on the beautiful birds that the sanctuary houses. It is home to birds like Himalayan eagle, partridge, pheasant, etc. Tourists visit the sanctuary to have a picnic, go camping or trekking.
