Savandurga

Savandurga

60 km to the west of Bangalore off the Magadi road is one of Asia's largest monolith hills. Savandurga is part of the Deccan Plateau which is formed by two hills, namely, Karigudda (black hill) and biligudda (white hill). Arkavathi river flows close to the hills through the TG Halli dam and on to Manchanbele dam.

Ramanagara

Ramanagara

This silk city called Ramanagara gained tourist attention following the famous film Sholay being shot amidst the rocky hills at Ramadevara Betta. Many trekking trails have been established here.

Nandi Hills

Nandi Hills

Trek to Nandi Hills before sunrise. People also prefer cycling to this place. The experience isn't complete if one misses the beautiful view of sunrise from up there.

Skandagiri

Skandagiri

Located 70 km from Bangalore is Skandagiri, an ancient mountain fortress. Close to the Bangalore Airport, Skandagiri is also known as Kalavara Durga. This hill overlooks the picturesque Nandi Hills.

Makalidurga

Makalidurga

Makalidurga is a fort town situated 60 km from Bangalore. The fort lies atop a hill which trekkers often visit. Makalidurga is best explored taking the railway trek trail. The hill offers opportunities for rapelling, bird watching along with trekking.

Bilikal Betta

Bilikal Betta

Bilikal Rangaswamy Betta is a hill along the Kanakapura range. This lesser known trekking route filled with shrub forest is 70 km to the south of Bangalore. Lord Ranganathaswamy temple lies atop the hill dedicated to a form of Lord Vishnu.
