Dassam Falls

Dassam Falls is considered as a major torist attractions of Ranchi and is an ideal place for adventure and travellers who loves to be close to nature. With a splendid scenic view, the falls is also very dangerous as there are many crocodiles in the water and tourists are warned not to take bath in the water. But there are certain limits where visitors are not allowed to take bath or enter.

Hundru Falls

Another recommended place when visiting Ranchi is the Hundru Falls. Travellers can have a relaxed time by taking a splash in the water. This beautiful waterfall is located at a distance of about 45 km from Ranchi and is an ideal place to picnic or just sit idle gazing at the beauty of the nature.

Ranchi Lake

The Ranchi Lake is an ideal tourist spot and is a must visit attraction when coming to Ranchi. The splendid landscape makes the place an ideal picnic spots and with the increasing popularity of the place, it offers travellers boating facilities too. This tourist attraction is man made and travellers who love bird watching can look for some rare species of birds here.

Jagannath Temple

The Jagannath Temple is located 10 km from Ranchi and is a recommended place for travellers visiting the city. Rath yatra which is similar to that of Puri is held every year in the month of June and July. The Rath Yatra in the temple attracts thousands of devotees from all over the country.

Kanke Dam

The calm and serene atmosphere attracts many travellers as well as locals to this tourist spot. It is located at the foothills of Gonda Hills in Ranchi and is an ideal spot for nature lovers. With increasing popularity, the place has turned into a picnic spot.

How to Reach Ranchi

By Air: Ranchi has an airport called The Birsa Munda Airport and travellers can visit the tourist places as taxis are easily available from the airport. The airport is located about 7 km from the city.

By Rail: Ranchi is well connected with major cities of India via rail routes and is one of the most busiest stations of the South Eastern Railways.

By Road: Goverment as well as private buses ply regularly to connect Ranchi to the other parts of Jharkhand.
