Never raft alone!

Know the classifications of rivers!
For rafting, rivers are classified from Grade I (Easy) to Grade VI (Most Dangerous). Chose the grade depending on your experience and physical limitations.
Say No to alcohol!
Never consume alcohol before going on for a rafting expedition . You will not only endanger yourself but also your fellow rafters.
Do Not raft in the dark!
Rafting should only be done in broad daylight! Make sure you have plenty of time to get back to the starting point or the camp site before dusk. In some rivers there is "moonlight" rafting, but these should only be done with well-experienced companies and guides.
Wear clothes that are water-resistant. The rafting gear includes wetsuit, life jacket, nylon shorts and floaters or open shoes with ankle straps. Also carry with you other essentials including sunscreen, sunglasses and a Go Pro camera! Certain things like wallet, car keys and mobile phones are not to be carried along.
Don't forget to take along necessary medications, if any. Also carry insect repellents to avoid insect attack.
Life Jacket -
Last, but not the least, always select a life-jacket you feel quite comfortable in. It shouldn't reduce your movements' flexibility.
