Thiruchendur Murugan Temple to Destroy Your Enemies!

When human beings seek different ways to destroy their enemies, there are some strong theists who depend on God to take care of their enemies. There are several temples in India that are known to cause harm to the enemies of the devotees. Thiruchendur Murugan Temple in Tamil Nadu is one such temple.

Thiruchendur Murugan Temple is located in Thoothukudi, which is popularly known as Tuticorin. This temple is dedicated to Lord Murugan and is also one of the major six abodes (Aarupadaiveedu) of Lord Murugan. Of all those six temples, only this temple is located near seashore.

There are some interesting facts about the temple. Unlike other temples, this temple was built by 3 holy saints. The temple has no Eastern gateway, ans is the 4th temple in Tamil Nadu to get ISO certification. Inteerstingly, Thiruchendur Murugan Temple is the only temple that has the sanctum sanctorum below ground level.

Being the second important among the six major abodes of Lord Murugan, the other temples are Palani, Swamimalai, Thiruthani, Pazhamudircholai and Thiruparamkunram. The temple has devotees coming from various parts of the world.

The Satru Samhara Pooja is the major offering here, which is believed to destroy one's enemies. Satru Samhara Moorthy is a form of Lord Murugan. The temple is frequented by celebrities and politicians across the nation.

Many festivals are celebrated here throughout the year. The Tamil New Year is celebrated here in the Tamil month of Chitthirai which falls in April. Visakam festival is celebrated in the month of Vaikasi. The other major festivals that the temple follows are Avani annual festival, Karthikai viratham in the month of Karthigai, Pooyam and Pongal in the month of Thai, annual greater festival in the month of Maasi, Uthiram festival in the month of Panguni, and soorasamharam festival in November.

Thoothukudi is well connected to all the major cities of India by road. The railway stations in Thoothukudi are Tuticorin, Tuti Melur and Milavittan. There is also a domestic airport (Tuticorin Airport) here which connects the place to other cities in India.

The other places to visit in Thoothukudi are Viva Thirupathi temple, Mayura Thottam, Nehru Park, Panchalankurichi and Our Lady of Snows Church.
