Government Rose Garden, Ooty
The Government Rose Garden in Ooty is one of the beautiful rose gardens in India that you can explore. The garden, which was earlier called as Jayalalithaa Rose Garden, Centerary Rose Park and Nootrandu Roja Poonga, is located at Vijayanagaram in Ooty.
Maintained by the Tamil Nadu Horticulture Department, this rose garden lies in a region that enjoys unique tropical mountain climate, which is ideal for growing roses. The garden has more than 20,000 varieties of roses and is one of the largest collection of roses in India.

The roses here include miniature roses, ramblers, hybrid tea roses, yakimour, floribunda and roses of unusual colours like green and black. A statue of an angel is also erected in this lovely garden.
Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, Chandigarh
The Zakir Hussain Rose Garden is the largest rose garden in Asia. Covering around 30 acres of land, this exotic garden has around 50,000 rose bushes with 1600 species of roses. The garden not only has plenty of roses, it also has plants that are known for their medicinal properties.

The Rose Festival is a cultural event happening in Chandigarh, which is held here. This event happens around February-March every year, and is organised as a tribute to the beauty and magnificence of roses. The Rose Festival also showcases joy rides, snacks and contests for the residents and the institutions near the place.
National Rose Garden, Delhi
The National Rose Garden in Delhi is a newly opened one and is also called as India Africa Friendship Rose Garden. The garden has some unique varieties of roses from India and other parts of the world.
Maintained by the Government of Delhi, this is a great place for kids to learn more about various types of roses and other flowers. The months of December and January are considered the best time to visit the garden as the flowers look the best during these months.
