Tada Falls, located near Kalahasti, gives an opportunity to stretch out your muscles and also enjoy the scenery.

Tada Falls is in Chittor district, around 90km from Chennai. It is one of the offbeat weekend getaways from Chennai located at the border of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.
What Makes This Trek Unique?
Tada is around 80km from Chennai; a drive on the NH-5 and a deviation at Kalahasti Road takes us to Tada Falls. Interestingly, Tada Falls is around 50km from Kalahasti and locally known as Ubbalamadagu Falls.

Tada falls trek takes all day and is a difficult trek. There are three base camps (three levels). Vehicles are allowed only till the first base camp. It takes around 20km from Tara to reach this first base camp. Travellers should move further on foot to cover the rest of the distance till the falls.
Total trek distance is around 10km; to and fro takes all day. One important thing is to keep water bottles, glucose supplements and snacks as the hike gets tiring. The first half of the trail is easy and beautiful. Small streams amidst the greenery is welcome. You can fill your water bottles from the streams in case you are running out of water.

After you reach the second base camp, you will hit the rocky patches. It is almost a rock climbing experience for half of the trek. There in the lap of nature, Tada Falls (Ubbalamadagu Falls) cascades in a mesmerising beauty. You can also play in the small pool formed by waterfalls.
Make sure return back when there is sunlight; do not stay at the waterfalls till the evening. Make sure you begin your return trip early as it takes around 2-3 hours to hit the first base camp from the waterfalls.

Tada Falls trek is a rewarding experience given that you are fit for trekking and rock climbing. Better not take any elders or kids on this trip.
The dense forest, small streams, big rocks and the waterfall here is a total package for adventure enthusiasts.
How To Reach Tada Falls
Tada Falls is around 25km from the village of Tada. All the human settlements are almost 10km before the first base camp. You won't find any villages or hamlets near to the waterfalls.
By Bus: Many buses from Chennai go till the Varadayya Palem. This the last stop and from here autos are available to reach the base camp.
By Train: Trains going from Chennai towards Sullurpeta reaches Tada.
However, it is better to arrange for private vehicles or cabs. No other vehicles except SUV's or bikes can travel in the narrow paths after the first base camp. It is your call to take your vehicles till the second base camp which is a little distance away from the first base camp. We suggest you start trekking instead of taking vehicle from the first camp itself. There is no road or proper path after this. So, it becomes diffcult to drive in such paths.
