Winter season usually starts from mid-November and stays on till the end of January. December being the peak of winter, it is usually the snowfall season in many parts of North India.

Tourists who want to experience a freezing climate and snowfall, then they should visit these places in North India during the month of December.

In many places, this is the best season to visit in North India. One gets to see snow-filled landscapes, mountains in these places. This is also the time for winter sports like skiing, snowboarding, etc. which is possible only during winter.

So, let us travel around these tourist places to enjoy the cold weather and the snowfall.

Ranikhet

The Western peaks of Himalayas can be seen from the hill station of Ranikhet.

Ranikhet means 'Queen's Meadow or Queen's Land', a story of King Sudhardev who won the heart of the queen , Rani Padmini seems to have got the land its name.

It is a scenic hill station situated in Almora of Uttarakhand. One can see pine forests, vistas of Himalayas and also enjoy the wildlife.

Binsar Mahadev temple, Katarmal, KRC Museum, Chaubatia Gardens, etc. are some of the tourist places around the hill station.

Ranikhet is also near to the famous Nainital (55km) and thus a must visit place in North India during December.

The park opens only from 1st October till 30th June, visitors are allowed only during these months.
