The Fishing Village of Chorwad

Chorwad was a small fishing village in Gujarat until the beauty of the place caught the eye of the Nawab of Junagadh. The vast open sea and the heavenly surroundings of this place attracted the Nawab so much that he chose this place to build his summer palace. Since then there has been no looking back for the otherwise silent town.

The best thing about Chorwad is that it disconnects you from the rest of the world as you are left in the hands of nature. It's a major weekend getaway for people working in the nearby cities, who after a week of meeting targets can relax and rejuvenate themselves here.

There are not many tourist places to visit in Chorwad, and that is wherein the beauty lies. Tourists have the freedom to explore the entire village and enjoy the hospitality and culture of the people here. Also should you be an early riser then do head onto the beach, as the fishermen might offer you a chance to go fishing with them.

Chorwad Beach

One of the places to visit in Chorwad is the Chorwad Beach. This beach is a perfect getaway from the madness of the city, and you can sit back and relax under the sun here. The beach is not a safe place to swim as there are dangerous rock formations. You can enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature here.

Daria Mahal

The Nawab along with his family came here to enjoy the beautiful view of nature and also to cherish the cold sea breeze. Today the palace is under the Gujarat Tourism Board and has been converted to a luxurious beach resort. If you feel the stay here weighs heavily on the pocket, then make sure you visit the place and explore the beautiful architecture.
