Patches of meadows, bamboo forests and lush green forests together provide a shelter for rich wildlife. It has been a home to several endangered species as well. Wildlife conservationists and the forest department have put a great deal of effort in guarding this heavenly reserve. Today, it is because of such efforts that we can see Barasinghas (Swamp Deers) prowling around in the reserve. There was a time when Swamp Deers were almost washed out but their relocation and even fencing helped in bringing back the almost extinct species.
